Deserted by God: God is with Us

When John Wesley lay dying, many of his friends came to visit him. Strong Christians as they were, they were anxious to encourage him with the promises of God. At one point, however, Wesley raised himself in the bed and with special energy said to them: ‘Yes, all these promises are true. But best of all, God is with us.'

If a Christian Were a Flower, What Would They Be?

Some would say a rose, some might say a tulip, and yet others would say a daffodil. I on the other hand, say that a Christian is called to be a dandelion, because a dandelion has all the attributes of a Christian witness.

For the Sake of the Gospel: When In Rome... (Part 14 of 15)

Paul arrived in Rome around 60 AD after being shipwrecked in Malta for several months. Rome was the capital of the Roman Empire, which extended about three million square miles around the Mediterranean and encompassed Spain, France, Israel, and parts of northern Africa. Nero governed Rome at the time. Although known for persecuting Christians, the persecution under his rule did not begin until after the great fire in Rome in 64AD.
