In the autumn of 1997 I, a son of Belial, became a believer. Soon after conversion I began to listen to Christian radio. As a new creature, I of course found it very informing and it guided my polluted mind toward things above. I suppose a non-coveted 2 a.m. radio slot on the AM dial to some was not of much value. But for me, it was the sword of Goliath in the hand of David. I would come home in a stumble of liquor and your proclamation of the Gospel would cause my eyes to brim with tears--like dinner plates filled with water...

Dear Alistair,

I write you this letter to encourage you and all the work the Spirit is doing through you.

Though I grew up in a Christian home and heard truth spoken to me from childhood, I have lived the better part of my life with a blind, deaf, and shameful heart that left me beaten down, warped and broken in more ways that I ever believed possible, leaving me almost crippled and trapped in a mire of self-pity and depression...

We very much appreciated your messages at the recent Ligonier National Conference, especially “Have Mercy” and its relation to Christopher Hitchens and how we are to see people outside the church.

In my youth I was such a hardened atheist and even after three tours in Vietnam, I didn’t flinch in my stand against theism. Only later did I recognize God’s incredible long-suffering and how He drew me to Himself. I began to see mercy more fully...

From a listener and Facebook follower:

Alistair Begg and the Truth For Life broadcasts are the reason I'm saved now. When I was a little kid I believed in God very much, but when I was 13 I saw my grandfather die of cancer. For a little more than ten years I didn't believe at all. I was first an atheist and then an agnostic...

A high school student writes:

I would like to start out by saying thank you. I found Truth For Life about a year ago through the radio and my life has been changed since then. I started high school this year and I know that I would have no inspiration to read my Bible or even think of God throughout the day if it weren't for you...

John and Joan have made the decision to partner with Truth For Life to help “get the Word out” and spread the truth of the Gospel. John explains that listening each morning during breakfast is how “we get truth, practical truth at that.”

Thank you so much Pastor Begg for your message on Ruth. My dad recently passed away and shared with me before his passing that his favorite book was Ruth. I was very surprised because my dad was a drill sergeant, a drummer and a truck driver...

Alistair, Greetings from Canada, the "Great White North." I listen to your podcast regularly when I walk about 4 miles in the morning. Recently I was greatly encouraged by your series based on Vaughan Roberts' book. Several circumstances and conversations have led me to start a class in our church that I will call "A Bird's Eye View of the Bible" beginning in the new year. Many marvelous resources have recently popped up in my preparation, and the principle one is Roberts' book...

Hello, I have listened to Alistair Begg on my phone for more than a year. I read Spurgeon's devotional daily, as well. I also had a wonderful chance to see Alistair speak in Beaverton, Oregon. What a night! Listening to the sermons and going to church on occasion helped me stay close to God. I really began to understand Jesus after listening to the full series of Kingdom of God. I loved it! I am sort of a "newbie" Christian. I really began to know God in 2010. Since then, I haven't let go...

I am new to true Bible study and have been away from the church for many years. I had a sporadic religious upbringing and further lost touch during college and then medical school. Throughout much study of science, the more I learned about our understanding of science and medicine the more I came to believe in God.

Dear Pastor Begg,

Sometimes it is really hard to find one's compass. I want to do right and live for Christ, but fatigue, disappointment and the stresses of living life have a way of getting me off track. I find myself feeling distant from God and wondering if salvation and Jesus really matter all that much. But in those times I can count on my morning 20 minutes with you on my phone as I get ready to face another day.

"What these sermons have done for me has been to change my life—forever.

I have been in and out of churches all my life and found (most) of them to be large social clubs. I walked in and out of church doors a thousand times with nothing more than perhaps a smile or handshake from someone assigned to do so. Almost no phone calls (even though I filled out the cards), no follow-up, nothing. I thought 'if these are God's people, how are they any different than the rest of the world?'

Greetings Alistair,

I wanted to send you a note to thank you for standing for the truth. As a fellow minister of the Gospel for 23 years, I have been so blessed by your radio ministry, of which I have been listening now for 6 years. It is your most recent radio broadcast of The Lion's Roar, that has been a great encouragement to me personally...

Pastor Begg,
God has used your ministry to bless us richly. My wife and I have been married 30 years. The first 27 years, we were very much involved in ministry. Three years ago, Mary became disabled through a very rare neurological disease. She can barely speak, can't see well, and is wheelchair bound. She needs 24/7 care. We are now on the recieving end of ministry, learning how to recieve from the Lord rather than giving to him. It's been hard, especially for Mary. But she is determined that if God will be glorified through this, and particularly, if someone will come to faith in Christ as a result of her illness, it's worth it. She has a beautiful spirit. Alistair, your messages on Joseph & the sovereignty of God,the Power of Weakness, and the purposes of suffering in the believer's life have been especially helpful in keeping our heart shaped for worship and service. We would like to partner with you as you share God's Word to those who need to hear it. Thank you for preaching true to the Word, and letting yourself be His mouthpiece.

If you ever have any contact, will you please tell Alistair thank you from an old saint who is benefiting and sometimes saved from sin by his messages that drive me to pray more and hunger and thirst after God more? A day does not go by but that I pray for all of you. With all my heart, thanks.

Be sure to let Pastor Begg know how much I appreciate his messages. I am a single dad of two little boys, just trying to provide for them and parent them. The messages I hear are an inspiration to keep moving forward.
