As we read this familiar story of Jesus walking on the water, we must not lose our bearings. This story is far more significant than telling us that we don’t need to worry about the scary winds and waters. Rather, it is part of the purpose of Mark’s gospel – revealing who the Lord Jesus Christ is and what he came to do.
