Amazing Grace (Message)

super excellent!!! i think somebody sold me a whole house full of three-legged chairs. i haven't given the doctrine of predestination much thought yet so i couldn't tell you if it is one of those chairs for me or not, but this message just made me realize that i do have some others. it was very helpful to see how you added that fourth leg in there for this one. i will apply that same process to my other chairs.

Faith comes by hearing the Word. If we don’t tell them, how will they hear it? If they are predestined, they will come to faith, but only if someone opens their mouth to tell them. We can’t use election as an excuse to not “go and tell”; only God knows whose hearts will receive it. There are some people we sort of take on as “projects”; gently encouraging them for years if necessary. For the general masses, though, it is a numbers game. Not everyone we speak with about Jesus is going to come to faith at the moment. Fine. Tell the next one and the next one. Plant seeds; perhaps the next believer they speak with will water that seed and on an on it goes. Until we get to heaven we will never know if most of the seeds we planted or watered grew up into Jesus. It is our responsibility to speak the Word; it is God’s responsibility to save them. It is Jesus who redeems, not us, so let’s take the pressure off ourselves and cheerfully speak about Jesus to our unbelieving world.
