God is Faithful

If the Apostle Paul could write a letter to your home church, what would it say? Most likely, it would sound a lot like the document in our Bible the first letter to the Corinthians! Alistair Begg describes the firm foundation of God’s church and presents Paul’s message to its members.

This message helps me to appreciate the diversity of my local church. Pastor Begg underscores that church is God's church: it is not the pastor's church, or the elders' church, or the founders' church. The church and its people are called, the church is in Christ and has what it needs, through the grace of God, to accomplish God's purposes. Just as we do not choose our brothers and sisters in our family, so we should not go shopping around for new brothers and sisters, just because things aren't going well at our local church. Seems like this would be a good message for church leaders to listen to when a local church reaches a bump in the road. When problems arise in a church -- don't leave, don't try to "fix" by human means; pray.
