Pastor Begg begins his preaching on Spiritual gifts by laying a solid foundation upon which to build. He gives in his delightful way some of the following:

The enemy understands the importance of spiritual gifts – the enemy wants to keep believers confused;
Paul understands that the Corinthians’ ignorance and pre-Christian superstitions made them susceptible to wrong teaching and wrong living;
Paul also understands that it is in the church’s interest that their people pursue only their area of giftedness.

There is much more in this Part 1 teaching on spiritual gifts, but it was more than enough to make me hungry to study the next two parts. Pastor Begg has again taken a piece of scripture that, at first glance is superficially understood and shone the light of his knowledge on it. What results is a deeper understanding of scripture, and our God-given gifts.
