When the followers He had sent out returned, Jesus rejoiced in the fact that God has hidden the truth of the kingdom from the proud and revealed it to the humble. Jesus’ joy reveals the coequal nature of Jesus Christ and God the Father. Alistair Begg highlights the great privilege we have to point others to the God who requires nothing from us but an awareness of our need for Him.

Jesus Rejoices in the Father's Will

21In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.2
