The Impact of One

Dear Friend,

Over the past few months, I’ve been reflecting on the beginnings of Truth For Life. When we launched the radio program, I had little idea of what was involved. For example, I thought that radio stations paid us to put the program on, but I quickly learned that it was the other way around. On most of the stations, we’re required to pay for every half hour. As a result, more than 80% of our budget goes to airtime or bandwidth on the internet.

As we approach the end of the year, I want you to be aware of our $2.5 million year-end challenge that we are calling The Impact of One. In November and December, we hope to secure the funds needed to sustain and expand our ministry in 2010. More than a third of our annual income arrives during these months and enables us to enter the new year with a renewed sense of partnership and growing expectation for all that God has in store for this ministry. We are asking God to supply these funds through you, one person and one gift at a time.

Let me encourage you to review the PDF report and video online and consider the impact that you might have by making a gift to the ministry this month. One of our listeners recently showed me his Bible, which was dilapidated. He was eager for me to know that it was “Truth For Life’s fault!” Prior to listening to the program, his Bible was on a shelf and largely untouched. Today, it accompanies him everywhere, including the local prison where he is involved in an outreach to the inmates. This story is multiplied time and again. With your gifts, you have a significant role in seeing lives touched and changed.

On a very practical note, let me suggest three ways you can help to reach our goal: 1) Make a year-end gift, 2) underwrite a project, or 3) become a Truthpartner.

If you have any questions, contact us and our team will be glad to help you. I look forward to hearing from you this month.

With gratitude,
Alistair
