Fulfill Your Ministry

What is pastoral ministry really about, at its core? The four-fold directive that the Apostle Paul gave to Timothy provides a clear perspective: always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry. In this message, Alistair Begg explores these timeless imperatives and encourages Christian ministers to persevere in preaching the Gospel even in the middle of a challenging culture.

Preach the Word

How does a pastor determine what to say on a Sunday morning? In this message, Alistair Begg leads us through Paul's solemn yet simple charge to Timothy: Preach the Word of God. As ministers fulfill this biblical call to preach, congregations too are called to receive the Word, and we are all called to patiently trust that God will fulfill His Kingdom purposes.

Having Gifts that Differ

God's design is that the local church matures as individuals exercise their gifts for the good of the whole. In this message from Romans 12, Alistair Begg points out that the encouragement to use our gifts comes with a necessary warning to avoid pride. We must use whatever gifts God has given us in humility so that the Church will be built up to the glory of God.

Necessary Reminders, Part One

When Paul commended Timothy for his "sincere faith," what did he mean? Beginning with this passage in 2 Timothy, Alistair Begg examines the nature of saving faith and explains how it must be the basis for ministry. Like the young pastor Paul addresses, we must also develop the gifts that God has given us in order to bear spiritual fruit.

Necessary Reminders, Part Two

As Paul reminded Timothy, believers must guard against the danger of complacency in ministry and in the Christian life. In this message from 2 Timothy 1:6, Alistair Begg reminds us that it is the Holy Spirit who enables each believer to "fan into flame" the gifts that God has given.

An Introduction to 2 Timothy

Those who lead any successful enterprise, if they are wise, will cultivate the "next generation" of leaders to ensure its success continues into the future. In this first study in 2 Timothy, Alistair Begg explains how Paul's concern for the Church led him to challenge this younger leader to hold the gospel firmly, without shame or fear.

Get It Right, Volume 2

Enduring opposition from a church marked by moral and doctrinal confusion, Titus is tasked by the Apostle Paul to select elders for the churches under his care and to provide leadership to those under his influence. In this study in the book of Titus, Alistair Begg takes us through Paul’s instruction and helps us discern that the guidelines for godly living are as relevant now as they were in the first century.
