Amos, An Introduction

From Series: The Lion's Roar

Amos 1:1  (ID: 1352)

Amos was an unremarkable man whose life was radically re-directed when God chose him to deliver a devastating message to the people of Israel. In a time of economic prosperity, religious hypocrisy, and moral degeneracy, God sent Amos to warn God’s people that His patience had run out. Alistair Begg teaches that God’s message, spoken through Amos, is equally uncomfortable, but vitally relevant, for the Church today

1The words of Amos, who was among the shepherds1 of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years2 before the earthquake.
