The Biblical Pattern for Children

Scripture tells children to respect their parents. How can we apply these commands in an age of questioning authority, or with respect to children becoming independent adults? Alistair Begg explores these questions, reminding us that although they are gifts to be cherished, children are by nature sinners in need. They ought to respect those over them within the biblical family structure—which includes open communication within families. Children should obey their fathers and mothers, not just to please them but also, and ultimately, to delight and glorify the Lord.
