Alistair Begg reminds us that in the competitive world in which we live, it’s easy to compare ourselves with one another—and jealousy can be very detrimental. A jealous individual cannot stand someone else doing better, and jealousy often breeds suspicion, anger, and chaos. Rightly understood, such jealousy is not a psychological disorder but a sin, a sign that our lives are out of sync with God. We must therefore confess and repent of our jealousy and seek God’s help to reject it.
