A New Year’s Prayer

Psalm 90:12 offers simple and vital instruction for the New Year: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” As Alistair Begg clarifies, this verse doesn’t promise to help us accurately forecast the length of our lives. Instead, it tasks us with seeing our actions in the scope of eternity. As we contemplate Psalm 90, we are encouraged to “number our days” so that we might live wisely to God’s glory.
