Missing Peace, The – Finding Happiness through Forgiveness
The quest for and the attainment of happiness are often far apart. Is there a place where you may not just pursue happiness, but actually find it? Happiness for many is like a giant puzzle with a missing piece. You think you've completed it only to discover that the last piece cannot be found. Could it be that we are looking in the wrong place?
Psalm 32: 1-2 says:
How happy is the one
whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered!
How happy is the man
the LORD does not charge with sin,
and in whose spirit is no deceit!”*
Can the answer really be that straightforward? Maybe your experience parallels that of King David who had everything he could want but still wasn’t satisfied. He used his position of authority to take someone who didn't belong to him, and in doing so he broke God’s law. His life quickly began to unravel, and instead of finding happiness, he is led on a course toward despair. Could he do anything to change his downward spiral?
These messages from Alistair Begg will take us through David's journey and we'll discover that although his circumstances didn't change, his perspective and his position with God did. David’s story does not end with guilt and despair, but with deliverance and grace and so may yours as you find "The Missing Peace".
