| Steven Biondi February 6, 2010 | Hi John. re: Jesus Christ is God (in 3000 words) Your eternal soul depends on believing this, one of several non-negotiable doctrines. We are saved from the dominion of death (darkness) by believing in the Truth (light). Read many verses to prove this claim. I hope you see that we can’t have two answers to a question. A good reference to ease inquiry would be a Topical Bible of a historically, lexically correct version. Look up Jesus the Christ. There are some unapproved versions of the Bible that exist either/or/both add to, take away from, change lexically, historically correct translations. The Bible is consistent with itself. You will not find it defining opposing views. For example, one unrecognized version, The New World Translation used by Jehovah’s Witnesses changes scripture – but not consistenly. I’m familiar with John 1:1-5. I will compare the New American Standard Bible with it. John 1:1 NWT In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was >a< god. (two Gods?)< >John 1:18 NASB John 1:18 NWT >John 10:30 NASB John 10:30 NWT >John 8:58 NASB Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am." Jesus said to them: “Most truly I say to YOU, Before Abraham came into existence, I have been.”< While we may not comprehend it, we can’t have it both ways.
