Throughout the church’s history, God has prompted church leaders to come together to deepen their fellowship in the Gospel and to encourage one another to greater faithfulness. Since its inception, that’s been the focus of the Basics Conference, hosted by Alistair Begg and Parkside Church. Through a mix of Bible teaching, singing, and breakout sessions, Basics seeks to encourage, equip, and refresh ministers, then send them back to their home churches and communities renewed for further Gospel work.
At the 2025 conference, Alistair was joined by Willie Philip (the Tron, Glasgow) and Richard Pratt (Third Millennium Ministries). Over the course three days, through prepared messages and open-ended question-and-answer sessions, they considered together issues of pastoring, preaching, ministry, and church leadership—all with a foundation planted firmly in Scripture and with an eye toward helping pastors do the basics of Christian ministry well.
