Dealing with Depression

Psalms 13:1  (ID: 1129)

Like David, many of us have seasons in our soul where it seems like it’s winter all the time. Often this kind of depression is the result of having the wrong perspective of our circumstances. While we need to realize the depth of our sin, we must not be despairingly overcome by it. Scripture calls us to trust in God’s unfailing love and rejoice in His salvation. If David could do this by looking forward to the coming Messiah, how much more should we who have clearly seen what was done for us in Christ?

How Long, O Lord?

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

1How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?

How long will you hide your face from me?
