Duties of a Man of God

 (ID: GS942)

In his first letter to Timothy, Paul calls his protégé to be a “man of God,” in contrast to the false teachers of his day. Speaking to pastors and ministry leaders at the 2010 Basics Conference, John Shearer reminds us that ministers today face many of the same obstacles that Timothy did. Just as Paul encouraged Timothy to cling to the faith he had been taught, so church leaders ought to flee false ministry not grounded in truth, follow after love and righteousness, and fight the good fight of faith.
