The purity of the Gospel must be maintained through successive generations so that false teaching can be readily detected. Alistair Begg outlines the characteristics of false teachers and the consequences of their teaching, noting that they primarily seek glory and profit for themselves. Christians in every generation must beware of the temptation of novel preaching and remember that “the main things are the plain things and the plain things are the main things.”
