Fasting, Weeping, Lamenting

 (ID: 2973)

When the Jews’ lives were in danger, Mordecai mourned so visibly that Queen Esther, who was secluded in the palace, heard of it. Mordecai had a plan, but Esther was reluctant to commit to a course of action that risked her life to plead with the king. Alistair Begg reminds us that the providence of God doesn’t absolve us from the responsibility to act. Fortunately, God is in the business of using fainthearted people like Esther—and like us.
