Good News for Christians

Romans 1:16–17  (ID: 2455)

What does it mean to be righteous before God? Scripture’s answer is surprising: our greatest efforts at selfless, prayerful, evangelistic living wouldn’t add to our merit before God, nor would the worst stumbles into sin rob us of His grace. Preaching from Romans, Alistair Begg reminds us that the righteousness required to stand in God’s presence is on account not of anything done by us but of what was done for us by Jesus on the cross.

The Righteous Shall Live by Faith

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,5 as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”6
