While the Israelite army was away doing its duty, King David stayed home and acted in sin. Alistair Begg offers a stark warning from this low point in David’s life. To sin blatantly as David did, we must have anesthetized our fear of God. We think, “If others won’t see, God won’t see. It’s just a private affair.” Such a belief is always false. God may sometimes seem silent, but He is never absent.
