Let It Be

Luke 1:38  (ID: 2549)

Mary, the mother of Jesus, rightly deserves emulation. When an angel delivered the news of the incarnation, she received it with humility and bravery, accepting the Lord’s will for her life. Similarly, Alistair Begg explains, we must receive Christ’s work on our behalf. He came in human flesh to do what we cannot; He fulfilled the law as our representative and satisfies its penalty as our substitute. Christianity is not a do-it-yourself project. It’s about what Christ has accomplished.

38And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant6 of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
