The Majesty of Jesus

John 18:1-40  (ID: 2002)

Despite the trying circumstances He faced in His final hours, Jesus displayed His majesty. Alistair Begg describes this reality as we see it during his arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. With His simple response, Jesus caused His opponents to fall down and His disciples to be strengthened. His willingness to lay down His life flows from devotion to His followers and obedience to His Father. Gloriously, He drank the cup of suffering that we might drink the cup of salvation.

Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus

1When Jesus had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples across the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which he and his disciples entered.
