In the Temple

Jesus’ cleansing of the temple is a memorable but often misunderstood and misapplied scene. As Alistair Begg explains, Jesus discovered exploitation occurring in the temple, which was meant to be a house of prayer. Righteously angry, He then intervened to restore His Father’s house to its true purpose. He had the authority to do so because He is the true High Priest, coming to cleanse not only the temple precincts but ultimately our sinful hearts.
