By the time of the first century, the Jewish people had been anticipating the arrival of God’s kingdom for a long time. Christ’s healing of the deaf and mute man, as Alistair Begg explains, was an illustration that the longed-for reign of God had come in Jesus, just as the prophets had foretold.
