The Problem of Pride

Healthy ambition is not wrong, but worldly ambition puts people in the center of reality instead of God and stems from pride. Such pride diminishes God and trusts in its own power. It is at the root of Adam and Eve’s first sin and the hypocrisy that Jesus preached against in the religious leaders of His day. Its cure? We need to see ourselves rightly before God, understanding that it is only through His power that we can accomplish anything good.
