Our culture, like every culture, is marked by pervasive patterns of thought that most people unquestioningly accept. They drift on these “tides,” living an unexamined life and believing essentially what they have been told to believe. As Alistair Begg explains, many of these dominant ideas are secular, transient, and ultimately futile, taking drifters to a place of emptiness and hopelessness. The better course is to swim against them in order to find the faith which gives us hope and a future.
