Many Christians demand constant evidence of God’s action on our behalf, even as we forget what He has done for us in the past. After the Israelites miraculously crossed the Jordan River, God told them to remember their deliverance. We also are called to remember and to acknowledge, again and again, that God has done what we could never do. If we fail to recall God’s action with a grateful spirit, Alistair Begg warns, we run the risk of our relationship with God growing cold and distant.
