The Perfected Kingdom, Part Two, B

The Perfected Kingdom, Part Two, B

With all the fascinating events and vivid pictures portrayed in Revelation, it's easy to overlook the central message. Today on Truth For Life, Alistair Begg moves our gaze from the sensational to the sacred. The imminent return of Jesus should motivate us to action! Listen today to Truth For Life with Alistair Begg!

The Kingdom of God, Volume 1

Look out the window of an airplane from 35,000 feet and you’ll see patterns and dimensions in the landscape unobservable from ground level. Look at the 66 books of the Bible through a similar wide-angle lens and you’ll discover far more than a collection of disjointed writings. The Bible is one book, inspired by one author (God), with one supreme subject, Jesus Christ. In a sweeping study from Genesis to Revelation, Alistair Begg shows us how the storyline of the Bible reveals God’s master plan to establish His eternal kingdom. Beginning in the Garden of Eden, we see a model of what God intended His kingdom to be – a place where His people live under His rule and blessing. But Adam and Eve reject God’s kingship bringing death, rebellion and sin into the world. By nature mankind follows their rebellious path, while longing for a perfect king to save them. The Bible tells us that by God’s grace, His plan to reconcile His people to Himself existed before the world began. Both the Old and New Testaments point unwaveringly to the One who will act as a mediator and Savior: the Lord Jesus Christ. God’s intention from the very beginning was for His Kingdom to be fully and finally fulfilled in Christ. While we have been waiting over 2,000 years for Jesus’ return, the book of Revelation assures us that the wait will not continue forever. The world is progressing towards God’s intentional conclusion where all of God’s people will live in God’s place under God’s rule and blessing.
