The idea of church discipline can seem outdated in today’s culture: we want to be “tolerant,” and accountability doesn’t seem to fit that aim. Using key Scriptures, Alistair Begg relays how church discipline can actually be loving if it has the good of the individual and the glory of God in mind. When we desire to restore someone back to the righteous path, we seek their ultimate good—and that is truly a loving goal.
