If the Old Testament sacrificial system dealt effectively with sin and guilt, it would not have ceased to be used. Explaining the insufficiencies of the Old Testament structure, Alistair Begg teaches that its effectiveness existed in how it pointed to the final sacrifice of the Messiah. Through his death Jesus provided the only solution to a guilty conscience. All attempts to get rid of guilt outside of Christ are futile and hopeless.
