In his first letter to Timothy, Paul reminded his protégé what it meant to be a good servant of Christ Jesus. Unpacking this text, Alistair Begg lays out the facets of faithful ministry, such as providing a godly example, passing on faithful teaching, and practicing disciplined persistence. As Timothy needed Paul, so we need others to remind us of these truths and encourage us to run with all of our might.
6If you put these things before the brothers,1 you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed.
