The Lord's Supper

From Series: Basics 2017

Jesus gave to His Church the Lord’s Supper as a sign of His covenant love, yet believers may sometimes participate in a shallow, perfunctory way. Teaching from 1 Corinthians, Sinclair Ferguson helps us develop a deeper understanding of this gift by discussing eight aspects of the ordinance: benediction, communion, consecration, commemoration, repetition, proclamation, anticipation, and self-examination. Pastors are encouraged to share an appreciation of this gospel sign with those they lead, which will strengthen their fellowship with Jesus and with each other.

14Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

17But in the following instructions I do not commend you, because when you come together it is not for the better but for the worse.
