The Sufficiency of Scripture

Psalm 19:7–11  (ID: 1887)

We know how essential Bible reading is to the Christian faith. But do we know how to apply it? As Alistair Begg demonstrates, the Bible’s message is not only relevant but also trustworthy, enlightening, rewarding, and sufficient to convert or revive our souls. By reading it, we come to know the mind and will of God. Do our lives display the importance we place on God’s Word?

7The law of the Lord is perfect,3

reviving the soul;

the testimony of the Lord is sure,

making wise the simple;

8the precepts of the Lord are right,

rejoicing the heart;

the commandment of the Lord is pure,

enlightening the eyes;

9the fear of the Lord is clean,

enduring forever;

the rules4 of the Lord are true,

and righteous altogether.

10More to be desired are they than gold,

even much fine gold;

sweeter also than honey

and drippings of the honeycomb.

11Moreover, by them is your servant warned;

in keeping them there is great reward.
