2 Kings 5 provides an example of two men facing tempting circumstances, but each reacted differently. Elisha had victory over sin while Gehazi’s failure to deal with the greed in his heart led to punishment. Alistair Begg reminds us that if we don’t deal with personal sin, it can destroy us, but if our minds are being renewed by the Word of God, our lives can be transformed and the cycle of sin can be broken.
15Then he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and he came and stood before him. And he said, “Behold, I know that there is no God in all the earth but in Israel; so accept now a present from your servant.”
