The Story

2 Corinthians 8:9  (ID: 1898)

Familiarity with the Christmas holiday can make us numb to the depth of its meaning. So how do we get to the heart of the Christmas message? It is impossible to understand the Christmas story if we separate the incarnation from Christ’s death and resurrection. Alistair Begg teaches that the significance of the cradle is found in the cross, where Christ bore the punishment for our sin. Simply knowing the Christmas story is meaningless apart from genuine faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior.

9For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.
