True Worship

 (ID: 1749)

The church’s chief responsibility is not to host potlucks or softball tournaments but to worship the living God. Even sharing Christ with others is not an end in itself but a means to gather more worshippers before God’s throne. In Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well, Alistair Begg describes the nature of the worship that God desires. Biblical worship, we are reminded, must be grounded in the Scriptures and engage the mind while also involving the heart.

23But bthe hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father cin spirit and dtruth, for the Father eis seeking such people to worship him. 24God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
