Justification
The New Testament writers describe salvation using a variety of complementary metaphors: justification, redemption, propitiation, and reconciliation. Our salvation is pure grace and completely accomplished in Christ, yet we must receive it by faith. God the Father initiates the punishment for our sins, and God the Son takes it in our place. We cannot boast, for this work is all God’s doing!
