After Jesus’ arrest, Peter went from boldly proclaiming his devotion to openly denying Christ. When faced with a hard situation, he took the easy way out—which he quickly regretted. When we similarly fail to guard our souls, moments of victory can easily turn into defeat. In the end, Peter’s time of brokenness strengthened him, and he became a powerful voice for the Gospel.
