From Riches to Less Than Rags

 (ID: 1837)

What is the essence of Christmas? How does the holiday speak to the longing of the human heart? As Alistair Begg explains, Jesus’ earthly life was the reverse of worldly aspirations. When He became a man, He went from outrageous wealth to the degradation of poverty. He did this so that he could lavish His riches on those who humble their hearts and receive the greatest gift of all: Christ Himself.

9For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that sthough he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.
