Questions of eternity turn our attention away from our selfish, present concerns. As Alistair Begg reminds us, the day of judgment will be fixed, fair, and final. God is the sovereign Creator and Sustainer, He calls all men everywhere to repent, and He will send the Lord Jesus to judge the living and the dead. Yet through this same Jesus, He also provides reconciliation. The judgment we deserve is borne by Christ but will fall on those who reject His love.
31because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”
