In the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, Christ told of a wealthy man who lived and ate in luxury while Lazarus, a poor man, starved outside his walls. The rich man died and found himself in Hell, while Lazarus was carried to Paradise. Alistair Begg entreats us to learn from Christ’s parable and reject prosperity as our ultimate goal. In caring for the poor and destitute, we testify to the grace with which we have been blessed in Christ.
